Explanation
QNAP provides two region options: Global and China. In general, when you are using QNAP services, your QNAP device and QNAP ID should belong to the same region (both in the Global region or both in the China region) so that devices can communicate with corresponding cloud server endpoints.
Region Settings on QNAP devices
On your QNAP device, you can switch between Global and China regions according to your needs.
To configure region settings, go to Control Panel > System > General Settings > Region.
Region Settings for QNAP IDs
QNAP IDs are region-specific and cannot be changed to another region.
- China QNAP ID: for users in the China region.
- Global QNAP ID: for users outside of China.
Region Requirements
Your QNAP device and your QNAP ID should belong to the same region. If your device is set to Global, you can only use Global QNAP IDs for device registration and sign-in. Similarly, if your device is set to China, you can only use China QNAP IDs for this device. This restriction ensures that devices in the China region can only be accessed by China QNAP ID users, thus complying with China's data protection laws.
Region Mismatch
If a Global QNAP ID tries to access a device set to the China region, or vice versa, the connection will fail. myQNAPcloud Link will show an error, indicating that the device and the QNAP ID do not have the same region settings. Remote access from a different region is not allowed.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter region mismatch issues, try one of the following solutions:
- Go to Control Panel and change your device region settings so that your device and QNAP ID have the same region settings.
- Go to myQNAPcloud, sign out of your current QNAP ID, and then sign in with a QNAP ID that has the same region settings as your device.

地区不匹配
如果全球 QNAP ID 尝试访问设置为中国地区的设备，或反之亦然，连接将失败。 myQNAPcloud Link 将显示错误，指示设备和 QNAP ID 的地区设置不一致。不允许从不同地区进行远程访问。
故障排除
如果您遇到地区不匹配问题，请尝试以下解决方案之一：
- 前往控制台并更改您的设备地区设置，以确保您的设备和 QNAP ID 具有相同的地区设置。
- 前往 myQNAPcloud，退出当前的 QNAP ID，然后使用与您的设备具有相同地区设置的 QNAP ID 登录。
