Overview
IPoE (IP over Ethernet) is a modern connection method that delivers network services by directly linking to the internet provider’s backbone network, bypassing older systems like PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet). Unlike PPPoE, which often requires login credentials and may slow down during peak times, IPoE provides a faster, more stable connection by reducing network congestion.
In regions adopting IPv6, IPoE also supports IPv4 over IPv6 services, ensuring older applications and devices remain compatible even as networks transition to IPv6 infrastructure.
To use an IPoE-based service, choose a service plan that supports commercially available routers. After connecting your QHora router to the network, configure both the WAN and LAN settings to start using IPoE.
