If the Backup Battery Unit (BBU) fails, will it have any direct impact on system performance?
The Backup Battery Unit (BBU) is an important module for protecting user data. You must contact QNAP immediately if the system detects that the BBU is malfunctioning.
The ES NAS is a dual controller system, where both controllers are equipped with a BBU. If the system detects that one BBU has failed, the BBU of the other controller will protect cached data written on both controllers. In such cases, there will not be any direct impact on system performance. However, if both BBU fail, the ES NAS will write data directly onto the HDD to protect data. This will affect system performance.

Contact QNAP immediately if the system detects that the BBU is malfunctioning.
