QuFirewall is blocking packets however the NAS is not accessible from the WAN
Applied Products:
-
All NAS Series
-
All QTS Firmware Versions
If you realized that QuFirewall is blocking packets however the NAS is not accessible from the WAN and your firewall rules are configured as basic, this could be a complete normal behavior.
If for example you have a DHCP server enabled in your router and multiple devices are connecting and disconnecting to the router via WIFI. QuFirewall could block these DHCP packets because the packets source IP is 0.0.0.0 and destination IP 255.255.255.255, as the IP 0.0.0.0 is invalid/unspecified IP address. That's why the packet from 0.0.0.0 would be blocked.
It is not recommended to add IP 0.0.0.0 in QuFirewall rule because It may cause security issues. So in this situation the most recommended solution is to keep QuFirewall blocking these packets. This action will improve your network security and will not affect the NAS connection.
