In the snapshots, the shared folder name is the old one we changed months ago, how could we solve this?

Symptom
One of our shared folders names was changed many months ago but when we access the snapshots the name of the folder is still the old one. I tried to change the shared folder name now and take a new snapshot and the snapshot is still creating this folder with the old name. How can we solve this?
Answer
This is due to the physical path of the shared folder in the NAS system is unchanged, which makes that the snapshots still appear the old name. Changing the Share folder name, the physical folder path is not changed.
Procedures
To solve this problem, please follow the procedures below.
- Rename the current shared folder to another name like CurrentSharedFolder_Old to avoid the same name.
- Create a new shared folder.
- Copy the data from the current shared folder to the newly created one.
- Take another snapshot, the folder name in new snapshots should follow the newly created one.
Note: The old versions of files are still accessible in old snapshot versioning. If you do not need the versioning of the old folder, please remove it and start to use the new folder. If you need it, please start to work with the new folder and when you have enough version in the new folder, please remove the old one and the problem should be solved.
