Scenario
I had a working VJBOD storage pool on my local NAS. I safely detached the pool and disconnected the VJBOD connection from the iSCSI LUN on the remote NAS. Then, I changed the LUN's Access Control List (ACL) permissions from "Read/Write" to "Ready Only". When I tried to reattach the VJBOD pool on my local NAS, it fails. What should I do?
Root Cause
Because a VJBOD storage pool uses the remote LUN as if it were a local hard drive, the local NAS requires full read/write permissions to the LUN. When the remote LUN permissions are set to "Read Only," the remote NAS denies all write requests to the LUN, which causes your local NAS to fail to reattach the VJBOD storage pool.
Solution
- Restore the LUN's ACL permissions to "Read/Write".
- Log in to your remote NAS as an administrator.
- Open iSCSI & Fibre Channel.
- Go to iSCSI Permissions.
- Click iSCSI ACL LUN.
The iSCSI ACL LUN window opens. - Identify the LUN masking policy that affects your VJBOD connection.
- Under Action, click

The Modify a Policy window opens. - Identify the iSCSI LUN used by your VJBOD storage pool.
- Select Read/Write.
- Click Apply.
- Reattach your VJBOD storage pool.
- Log in to your local NAS as an administrator.
- Open Storage Manager.
- Go to Storage Space > Disks.
- Click ⋮ > Recover > Attach and Recover Storage Pool.
After the system successfully reattaches the storage pool, the pool status changes to "Ready".

Important
To ensure normal NAS operations, we recommend always keeping read/write permissions for remote LUNs that are used for VJBOD storage pools on your local NAS.

- 打开存储管理器。
- 前往存储空间 > 磁盘。
- 点击⋮ > 恢复 > 连接并恢复存储池。
系统成功重新连接存储池后，池状态变为“就绪”。
您可以在存储空间页面上查看池状态。
重要提示
为了确保 NAS 的正常运行，我们建议始终保持本地 NAS 上用于 VJBOD 存储池的远程 LUN 的读写权限。
