The update process varies depending on the NAS model, number of drives, and any running storage services. Single-controller models, such as the TES-x85u series, might finish an update in as quickly as 20 minutes, while dual-controller models, such as the Enterprise ZFS NAS Series, might take up to 45 minutes.
Dual-controller models support rolling updates; while one of controller is updating, the other controller takes over in order to avoid any interruption of service. Unfortunately, single-controller models will experience a temporary interruption of service during the update process.
Dual-controller models take longer to update, but don't experience service interruptions during the update.
