How should I optimize advanced settings to cater to different usage scenarios?
On the "High Availability" page, click the “Cluster option" button to fine tune takeover and giveback behavior modes.
System failover protection: Takeover is automatically executed when the system detects that one of the controllers is abnormal. The default setting is “Enabled”.
Failover when network fails: Takeover is automatically executed when the system detects that one of the network connections is disconnected (if Port-Trunking is configured, then both connections must be disconnected). The default setting is “Disabled”.
Failover when JBOD fails: Takeover is automatically executed when the system detects that JBOD connection is interrupted. The default setting is “Enabled”.
Automatically failback when system recovers: Giveback is automatically performed when the system detects that a failed controller has returned to its normal state, and the startup and network connections were successful. The default setting is “Enabled”.
Prevent fail-back repeatedly: To avoid Takeover-Giveback loops due to hardware errors, enable this option to stop automatic giveback attempts after two Takeover-Giveback cycles. The default setting is “Enabled”.
Management port failover: The IP address of the Management-port will be transferred to the target controller during Takeover. If the Management-port is set to DHCP you will not be able to enable this option. The default setting is “Disabled”.
