Overview
You can use an SSL certificate to secure your QNAP NAS connection with an SSL certificate to prevent "Not Secure" browser warnings and protect your data during remote access. This guide explains how to purchase and install an SSL certificate. The actual steps depend on your NAS firmware version and account status.
Note that myONAPcloud SSL certificates can only be used with myQNAPcloud DDNS domain name, including:
myqnapcloud.com
mycloudnats.com
Your certificate will be linked with your currently signed-in QNAP ID and cannot be switched to another account. You can make at least 3 alternate domain names with the same myQNAPcloud SSL certificate. For example: mycorp.mycouldnats.com, corpname.mycloudnats.com, company.mycloudnats.com
Global and China sites
QNAP SSL certificates are either for the Global or China regions. They are not interchangeable. Once you have specified a region for the certificate, you cannot change it to the other region. The system will provide domain names based on your region settings.
